Seventh place Lyon will be hoping to qualify for European football ahead of next season. To do that, they need to try and finish in the top four this season and they trail fourth place Lille by five points. Lyon will feel that this is a good opportunity for them to claim three points given that Reims are 13th in the league and certainly have not had a season to remember so far. Lyon are without a win in their last seven games but they will look to put an end to that poor run of form sooner rather than later. The last time that they claimed a win was when they beat Montpellier 1-0 on 4 January. Lyon will claim a win in this game against a side who are not having the best season.

While we back Lyon to win this game, it will not be the prettiest of wins. Pierre Sage’s side have not been in good form lately and behind the scenes issues at his club have also taken a toll. It’s safe to say that they will not play confident football in this game.
Reims themselves are not in good form and have failed to win in their last three games. This game essentially will feature two teams which are not in the best of form against each other. While it will be a close game which may get boring at times, we expect Lyon to take advantage of their home ground advantage and to come out with a narrow win.
