Africa Cup of Nations 2023/2024 Schedule
According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), AFCON will begin on January 13, 2024, through February 11, 2024.
How Do African Cup of Nation Qualifiers Work?
The AFCON starts after the end of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, where 24 teams are drawn into six groups, each group consisting of four teams. There are 52 teams that participated in the AFCON qualifiers.
The tournament will begin in the AFCON groups stage, which is played in a round-robin format.
The top two teams in each group, alongside the teams in the third and fourth ranking, will progress to the round of 16.
The winners of the round of 16 will advance to the quarter-finals, and the winners of the quarter-finals then advance to the semi-finals.
The semi-final losers will play to secure the third position in the Africa Cup of Nations while the semi-final winners contest for the ultimate AFCON champions.
