List of AFCON 2024 Favourites
Although the qualifying campaign for the finals has not yet finished, we already know a number of the teams that will be in the Ivory Coast next year. Some of the early AFCON favourites include:

Ivory Coast
As hosts, Ivory Coast had already automatically qualified for the finals.
But they will also finish in the top two of their group. With home support, the Elephants have AFCON odds on their side.
Nigeria
Nigeria is one of the most successful nations in AFCON history and easily qualified from their group with games to spare. Now they will be going for their fourth AFCON title – and the first since 2013.
Therefore, many betting sites place them as one of the top AFCON favourites.
Morocco
The Atlas Lions surprised everyone by reaching the semi-finals of World Cup 2022, although they found qualification for AFCON a little tougher. But they will still be expected to do well in Ivory Coast.
Senegal
The current champions, Senegal, have some of the best African players in the world and breezed through qualification. They will be one of the teams to beat at the tournament and are in fine form.
Egypt
Egypt lost the most recent AFCON final on penalties and will be keen to gain revenge in Ivory Coast. Mo Salah is the standout player, but the Pharaohs will be one of the most feared teams at the finals.
AFCON 2024 Top Goalscorers Favourites
Not all of the final teams have been decided, but there are a few players that we will know will be in Ivory Coast – and will be expected to score goals.
Victor Osimhen
The Nigeria striker has been unstoppable for Napoli this season as they won the Italian league title for the first time in 33 years. Osimhen will lead a strong Nigeria side and will be looked to score the goals to bring home the AFCON title too.
Sadio Mané
The Bayern Munich attacker will be one of a number of Senegal players looking to score the goals to win back-to-back AFCON titles. He has been prolific in qualification so far and should be able to find the net at the finals too.
Patson Daka
The Copper Bullets have qualified for their first AFCON finals since 2015 and it is Leicester City’s Patson Daka that played a large part in that success. He will now be expected to continue that form and become one of the AFCON top scorers.
